Originating on a Planet they call Tencton, and rescued by the inhabitents of an Intergalactic Exploration ship just before their home systems sun went Nova. The original inhabitants of the ship, discovered that the Tenctonese were actually a bio-engineered species created by an unknown race who seemed to have kept their slaves in ignorance of their origins. Indeed the majority of the ships crew used the Tenctonese for the dirty and menial jobs needing done on the ship and deemed beneath the stature of intelligence of the crew. This state of affairs continued for over 300 years before 2 Tenctonese spiritual leaders led a peaceful revolt against the masters of the ship, demanding and receiving better conditions and other concessions for their people. these leaders were known as Celene & Andarko and they left a cult behind that flourished amongst their people and became the major belief system of the Tenctonese.
Over the next 50 years, an uneasy truce existed between the Tenctonese and their hosts, a peace that nearly fell apart twice over the breeding rate of Tenctonese and their growth in numbers, it finally came to a head with the discovery of our solar system, the original 5 races decided that the Tenctonese had to be removed from the ship before their numbers overwhelmed the ship ( At the time the ship arrived here, the Tenctonese numbered around 1.5million while the original crew only combined to total 500,000 at their height.). The Discovery that our primary planet was already inhabited threw the plans of the ships crew into disarray, and it was decided to move on to Tau Ceti in the hopes that it would have a suitable world.
As the crew of the ship prepared it for another long journey, one of the major races in charge of the ship, a small humanoid race called the Boori, started acting stranger and stranger, until in Earth Year 1978 they announced that the Ship would not be leaving Sol, and that the Tenctonese would have to be reduced in number to accomodate this directive. The Tenctonese rebelled at this idea and the Boori convinced the other races that they had to enforce a reduction in numbers of the Tenctonese or they would all die. In EY 1980 the other races started using the "Holy Gas" on the ship to control the Tenctonese and then started culling thier numbers, there was much dissention amongst the races over this issue and it eventually led to the destruction of the ship and escape of the Tenctonese to Earth.
